Is your Instagram feed needing a refresh after all the cold wintery months? Look no further for inspiration. Here are 7 Instagram locations guaranteed to warm up your social media presence as we head into the spring and summer months!
Richard’s Fruit Market
Spring is around the corner which means flowers will be blooming and local fruits and veggies will be available! My favorite place to pick up fresh produce in the spring and summer months is at Richard’s Fruit Market. Not only do they sell amazing peaches, garden vegetables, and home-baked pies, but the ambiance is charming and is screaming to be featured on your Instagram. Snap some photos in the flower patch while putting together your own bouquet and pose in front of the market’s peeling paint or the vintage rusting farm truck. These photos will scream summer southern charm.
Bluemont Vineyard or Dirt Farm Brewing
Bluemont Vineyard and Dirt Farm Brewing are both owned by the Zurschmeide family and are side by side. There is no need to pick between beer or wine when you visit, just hit up both! The views are stunning and the perfect backdrop for showing off a cute outfit and a glass of your favorite poison. Perfect for a daytime date with your special one or a group of your closest friends. Whoever you go with, be sure to document your time with a photo that will make all of your followers jealous.
Take a step back in time while visiting “Abram’s Delight” – the site of a prominent Winchester family, the Hollingsworths. Pay to go inside the house or just explore the gardens and surrounding area around the house. There are plenty of structures to pose in front of like a teal shed, an old log cabin, and a gazebo. Not to mention all of the primed bushes and nearby weeping willow trees make for a natural majestic and historical backdrop. The simplicity of the background will let you shine.
Old Town Winchester Walking Mall
The Walking Mall is a classic Instagram opportunity. There is plenty of small-town sweetness to be shown in your Instagram photos. Snap some shots of the plethora of old churches or historical buildings. The amphitheater in the center of the walking mall is perfect for a photoshoot when an event isn’t being held, however, check it out when a band is playing for more photo opportunities. Keep your eye out for the alleyways and secret nooks. Old Town is full of unique moments to capture for your feed.
Bear’s Den Overlook
This tiny fraction of the Appalachian Trail boasts a beautiful view that you don’t even need to hike to. Park at the top and take a short 5-minute walk down to get a gorgeous view of the Shenandoah Valley. I like to take a few snacks and sit on one of the big boulders to watch the sunset. Everyone likes a good nature shot, bless your feed with one at Bear’s Den.
The State Arboretum of Virginia, also known as Blandy Experimental Farm is located about 30 minutes away from Winchester. The sprawling acres of land is perfect for taking photos and a favorite location of local professional photographers. Go for a walk around the premises and pick your favorite spot. The gingko grove is a personal favorite as well as the marshy grasses area. Blandy Farm is also very dog-friendly! Bring your furry best friend for some family photos. You’ll be glad you visited.
Pack’s Dairy Corner
Visit this Winchester institution serving locals delicious soft-serve ice cream since 1949. The vintage paint, nostalgic lighting, and perfectly swirled ice cream make this an Instgrammer’s dream. Send your followers back in time with a photo at Pack’s.
